At 320m high it may not actually be a mountain (In the UK a mountain is any peak over 600m 2000ft) but it will feel like one to kids, and give them a taste of adventure.
There are many routes to the top, but most people walk straight up, then down via the “Shooting box” a shelter just above the trees.
Distance: 2.8km 1.7 miles
Elevation: 183m straight up and down. Many routes are available to the top, from straight up to winding around.
Kids will love: The feeling of achievement that comes with the view and the summit. Scrambling over the rocks on the top. A picnic with a view. Trying to pick out the carpark to see how far they have walked. Feeling like a real explorer, conquering the mountain and… probably rolling, jumping and running back down.
Pushchairs? No, lots of steps and narrow paths on the main routes up.
